The Moore Police Department has made public a dash camera video capturing an officer executing a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) during a high-speed chase on Interstate 240 in Oklahoma City last week.
The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop a driver near 27th Street and Eastern Avenue, who had an outstanding felony warrant. The driver evaded the stop, initiating the chase.
Video footage reveals the suspect driving recklessly, weaving through traffic, and eventually merging onto I-240. The chase continued with the suspect driving against traffic, cutting through parking lots, and crossing a grassy median to re-enter the highway.
The situation escalated when the suspect drove on the shoulder to bypass traffic. Near May Avenue in southwest Oklahoma City, a Moore police officer performed a TVI, leading to the suspect’s truck colliding with a concrete barrier, becoming airborne, and finally stopping on the highway.
The suspect was hospitalized but is expected to recover. No injuries were reported among the police officers involved.
