A dramatic police chase unfolded on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Redding, California, leading to the arrest of a suspect after a high-speed pursuit. The chase, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies, came to an end when officers deployed stop sticks to disable the suspect’s vehicle tires, according to witnesses at the scene.
The suspect’s vehicle came to a halt after the tires were punctured, and officers swiftly approached the car. For a brief period, the individual was held at gunpoint, and, in a tense moment, officers fired two non-lethal rounds into the rear window of the vehicle.
The suspect eventually surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s identity or the charges they are facing.
