WOMAN BURNED TO DEATH IN NY SUBWAY IDENTIFIED AS DEBRINA KAWAM

On Tuesday, New York police revealed that the woman who tragically died on December 22 after being set on fire aboard a subway train in Brooklyn was 61-year-old Debrina Kawam, from Toms River, New Jersey.

The NYPD confirmed her identity based on forensics and video surveillance, which had been used in the investigation. Kawam succumbed to her injuries after being burned on the subway car. Authorities also apprehended the suspect, 33-year-old Sebastian Zapeta, hours after releasing images of him to the public.
